Lake Bienville

Lac Bienville is a lake in the Canadian province of Quebec, in the Nunavik region of northern -du -Québec.
The lake is located about 300 km east of Hudson Bay on the Labrador Peninsula. It lies 428 m above sea level and has a water surface of 1047 km ² and a total area of 1249 km ² including islands .. The river Grande rivière de la Baleine is towards the outlet of the lake to Hudson Bay.
East of the lake, the hills rises to 700 meters above sea level. There is the watershed between the further east Caniapiscau Reservoir, which belongs to the catchment area of Ungava Bay, and the Lac Bienville, which is drained to Hudson Bay down.
The lake was named after Jean -Baptiste Le Moyne de Bienville ( 1680-1767 ).
