Lake Omodeo

The Lago Omodeo is one of the largest reservoirs of Sardinia, Italy. For the Tirso was dammed in the region of Barigadu. In 1919, the dam of Santa Chiara was in Ula Tirso for 16,000 workers built and completed in 1924, this project was designed by the eponymous engineer Angelo Omodeo. The reservoir extends over 20 km in length and is used mainly to alleviate the chronic water shortage of the islands, power generation and irrigation in agriculture.

The dam has some monuments of history inundated the remains of which rise out of the sea at low tide. These include the Nuraghe Iscòva, Perdu Mannu e Bentòsu, Pajolu, Biùgias Pilicas e Auru and Songhe e Su Pranu. and three giants' tombs.
