Lake Plav

The Plavsko Jezero ( Serbian Cyrillic Плавско језеро ) is a lake in the municipality of Plav, in northeastern Montenegro.

The lake lies in a wide valley between Prokletija and Visitor massif at an altitude of 906 m above sea level. He is 9 feet deep, measuring from north to south 2,160 m up to 1,400 m wide and covers an area of about 2 square kilometers. Important tributary is the Ljuca, the outflow is the Lim

The Plavsko Jezero has long been regarded as the largest glacial lake of the Balkans. Recent research assumes, however, that it must be different arose because the glacier should never be pushed forward so far.

Researchers have also detected 270 species in the lake.

The Plavsko Jezero offers opportunities for swimming and water sports. Because of the different species of trout and pike, he is a popular destination for anglers.
