Lake Saint-Louis

The Lac Saint- Louis is a 148 km ² large lake in the southwest of the Canadian province of Quebec. It is located southwest of Montreal in the area of ​​the mouth of the Ottawa River in the St. Lawrence River and is part of the Hochelaga Archipelago.

In the north and east of the lake is limited by the Ile de Montréal, on the west by the Ile Perrot. To the south lies on the mainland city of Beauharnois. Two narrow creeks of the Ottawa river to the Ile Perrot around connect to the northern Lac des Deux Montagnes ago; the small height difference is overcome by a respective lock.

The lake is popular for sailing. On the north shore there are several yacht clubs. In the lake itself, which forms part of the Saint Lawrence Seaway, are the Île Dorval, Ile Dowker and other small islands.
