Lake Syamozero

The Sjamosero (Russian Сямозеро, Finnish Säämäjärvi, Karelian Seämärvi ) is a large freshwater lake in the Republic of Karelia in the northwest part of Russia. The 265-270 km ² lake is located between Lake Ladoga and Lake Onega in the southern part of Karelia. It has a maximum depth of about 24 m. In the lake there are a number of small islands. It is used for ship traffic and fishing. The Sjanga drained the lake to Shuja, which then flows into Lake Onega.
