Deepest lake in Quebec

The Lac Walker is a lake in the Côte -Nord administrative region in the Canadian province of Québec.

The Lac Walker is located 25 km west-northwest of Port -Cartier in the south of the Labrador Peninsula in the MRC Sept- Rivières. The elongated lake has a north-south orientation. It lies at an altitude of 100 m and extends over a length of 33 km. The maximum width is about 2 km. Its maximum depth is 280 m. This makes it the deepest lake in Quebec. At the north end Rivière aux Rochers and the rivers flow into the Rivière Schmon Lac Walker. At the southern end of the Rivière aux Rochers Lac Walker drained.

The lake was named after Sir Hovenden Walker (1656-1725 or 1728), a British Admiral of Irish origin named.
