Laken Declaration

The Laeken Summit from 13 to 15 December 2001 was a meeting of the European Council in Laeken in Brussels. In his closing statement by the " Convention on the Future of Europe" was convened, which should indicate d' Estaing way for a future of the European Union under the leadership of Valéry Giscard and finally submitted a draft of the European Constitution. The summit was accompanied by demonstrations.
