Lakeway is a city in Travis County in the U.S. state of Texas in the United States.

Geography

The city is located in the central southeast Texas, on Highway 620 and has a total area of 15.7 km ², of which 0.7 km ² water surface.

Demographic data

According to the census of 2000, there were 8,002 people in 3,124 households and 2,496 families. The population density was 532.7 inhabitants per km ². The racial the population was composed of 96.39 % White, 0.80 % African American, 0.12 % Native American, 0.86 % Asian, 0.00% Pacific Islander residents from the and 0.86 % from other ethnic groups.
