Lalapaşa is the name of a district town and a district in the northern Turkish province of Edirne in Eastern Thrace. Lalapaşa has 1,347 and the county 7,523 inhabitants ( 2010). In the district there are 27 villages.

The county is bordered on the north by Bulgaria and on the east by the province Kırklareli. Here is the border crossing Lessowo - Hamzabeyli.

The name is derived from the Lalapaşa Ottoman general Lala Şahin Paşa. This conquered the territory in 1361 for the Ottoman Empire and received Lalapaşa as a fief.
