Lamas Quechua or Lamista - Quechua ( Quechua: Llakwash Runashimi or llamas Kichwa, Spanish: Lamista Quechua ) is a variety of Quechua, the Quechuas of the Lamistas in the province of Lamas in the Peruvian department of San Martín and in some villages along the Huallaga in the department of Ucayali is spoken and belongs to the Kichwa of northern Peru.

The Lamas Quechua was recently suspended some time a repression by the Spanish, so that most children only speak Spanish. Nevertheless, the SIL International specifies a number of speakers of 45,000 people. There is in recent times efforts to halt and reverse the loss of speech. So Intercultural bilingual education with Quechua and Spanish was introduced in some schools.

The Lamas Quechua has the characteristic of the Chinchay group sound inventory. Anlautendes [h ] is silent, so this, found sound, expressed with "j" only in Spanish loanwords. As common with other northern Peruvian Quechua varieties plural forms of the verb are formed by appending " llapa ".
