Lamba language

Lamba is a language from Zambia.

It is related to Bemba and is commonly spoken in the copper belt. For about 210,000 people in northern Zambia, and on the southern edge of the Democratic Republic of Congo, the mother linguistic fields by many migrants who have moved to Lusaka, Lamba is also common there.

Lamba is one of the Bantu languages ​​(In fact, mu ntu means " a person " on Lamba and ba ntu means " two or more persons"). Linguists include in Zambia - besides English - 42-78 local languages. According to some linguists Lamba is only a dialect of Bemba. Although the two languages ​​have many words in common, however, they are not as closely related to each other such as Swiss German with German high.
