Lambda Aquilae

84 L ☉

λ Aquilae (lambda Aquilae, λ Aql ) is a star in the constellation Aquila. He leads the proper name Al Thalimain Prior, while the star ι Aquilae ( Iota Aquilae ) as Al Thalimain Posterior is called. Al Thalimain ( الثالمين AT Ṯālimayn ) is Arabic and means the ( two ) ostriches.

Lambda Aquila is a main sequence star of spectral type B9. The star is about 124 light years from Earth and has an apparent visual magnitude of 3.43 on mag. It has about 2.8 times the mass, the 2.3 times the radius and the 84fache luminosity of the sun, but rotates much faster than this in less than 21 hours once around its axis. If its hydrogen supply will be exhausted in the core once, he will go into the giant stage and eventually end up as a white dwarf of 0.7 solar masses.
