Lambeg Drum

The Lambeg drum (irish Druma Lann Bheag ) is a Northern Irish, beaten with two canes cylinder drum. It is like other played in a marching band bass drums worn vertically in front of the chest. Their diameter is on average 90 cm, depth 65 cm. It is particularly used in parades Northern Irish Protestants, such as the Orange Order.

The Lambeg drum was probably in the 17th century by English settlers or the army of William of Orange to Northern Ireland. It has developed presumably from the military drum that time, which was built in Northern Ireland gradually getting bigger.

It is named after the village of Lambeg, County Antrim.
