Łambinowice

The Łambinowice ( German Lamsdorf ) is a mayor's office in the county Nyski. It belongs to the province of Opole in the southwestern part of Poland. It is the parish seat of Gmina Łambinowice rural community.

Geography

The mayor's office extends northeast of the county town of Nysa ( Neisse ).

Stock Lamsdorf

Achieved historic importance of the village by the prisoner of war camp Stalag VIII B ( 344) Lamsdorf. It was from 1939 to 1945 one of the largest German prisoner of war camp. From June 1945 until the fall of 1946, it served as Internierungs-/Arbeitslager in the expulsion of the Germans from Upper Silesia.
