Lamine Diack
Lamine Diack ( born June 7, 1933, Dakar ) is a Senegalese sports official. Since 1999 he has been President of the World Athletics Association International Association of Athletics Federations ( IAAF).
Life
In the 1950s, Diack was active as a long jumper. Subsequently he was employed in Senegal as coach and technical director in football. In the early 1970s began Diack next to his involvement in sport a political career. From 1978 to 1993 Diack was a member of Parliament in Senegal.
On 11 December 1999 Lamine Diack was elected President of the Athletics IAAF.
He is a member of the International Olympic Committee since 1982.
