Lamluda

Lamluda is a village in present-day Libya, in which extensive, but are rarely explored ancient ruins. It is perhaps to the ancient Limnias ( Itinerarium Antonini 68, 70 ), although this identification is uncertain. The village is located about 28 kilometers east of Cyrene. The place was never the target of systematic excavations, apart from a brief unpublished expedition. In the village there were probably a smaller city from the Byzantine period. There was a bathroom, at least one paved road, houses and especially two churches. The western church is in a cemetery of a rock-hewn subterranean grave system.
