Lampetia

Lampetia or Lampetie (Greek Λαμπετίη, the Vibrant ), in Greek mythology, daughter of the sun god Helios and Neaera and one of the Heliopolites. Her sister is Phaethusa, half or full siblings, according to tradition, are Aigle and Phaethon. In this case, Rhode was her mother.

Together with her sister Phaethusa she kept six sheep and seven cattle herds of 50 animals her father on the island of Trinacria ( according to some researchers today Sicily).

Meaning they gained in the Odyssey, as it after one of the crew of Odysseus, had received clear instructions, which was accepted by the team with oath, slaughtered several animals of Helios, reported it to her father. This moving Zeus destroy the ship of Ulysses, which led to the death of the entire team. Odysseus had previously been warned by Circe from this fate.

Construed as a sister of Phaethon, it counts as her sisters to the Heliopolites and was transformed after the death of Phaethon in poplars, weeping tears of amber.

Following a further tradition strand, Lampetia was also the lover of the Greek god of healing, Asklepios, and begat with him Machaon and Podaleirios that Jaso, Aigle and Panacea. Also Ianiskos and Alexenor are named as sons of this compound
