Lance Corporal of Horse

The Lance Corporal of Horse (short: LCoH ) is a unique rank in the Household Cavalry of the British Army and the counterpart to Lance Sergeant of the Foot Guards ( Guards regiments on foot ) and the Honourable Artillery Company ( Honorable Artillery Company ).

It was introduced in 1971. The rank of Lance Corporal of Horse in the Household Cavalry replaced the rank of corporal. The rank of Lance Corporal of Horse is higher than the rank of Lance Corporal and below the rank of Corporal of Horse. Lance Corporal of Horse are always addressed as Corporal.
