Geography

The village Langensalzwedel is at the southeastern edge of the Altmark region, between the towns of Stendal and Tangermünde. The left bank of the Elbe is located about 4 km from Langensalzwedel.

History

Until December 31, 2009 Langensalzwedel was an independent municipality and a member of the now defunct administrative community Tangermünde.
