Langnese

HB's ice cream [ Lanne: zə ], usually called only HB's ice cream, ice cream is a brand for the Unilever group.

History

The merchant Karl Rolf Seyferth sought in 1927 in Hamburg Fremdenblatt a brand name for its existing "German-Chinese Eisproduktionsgesellschaft " which also dealt with the production of honey. At that time there was in Hamburg a biscuit factory founded in 1888 with an outstanding reputation for quality and commitment. This factory belonged to the export merchant Viktor Emil Heinrich ( VEH ) Lagnese. In 1927 the company took Seyferth for 300 Reichsmark, thus securing the brand names Lagnese.

Seyferth imported in 1935 a Danish achievement to Hamburg: popsicles. A hot summer and a price of 10 penny meant success. More than 1.5 million Eislollis how the vernacular called the HB's ice cream were sold in the first season. Made to the former logo, matching the name, a boy with a popsicle a long nose. The Nazis slowed from the young business. Charles Seyferth was denied the necessary for the production of ice cream milk and cream, and so he sold his company in 1936 to the " margarine sales Union ". This was allowed in the commercial register in Berlin, the " HB's ice cream GmbH" app, which also ice for restaurants and pastry produced in the sequence next to ice lollies until the start of the war was no longer possible.

After the Second World War, the production of ice cream was resumed in August 1948. But sales successes are only 1953, just before the parent company, which changed its name now as margarine Union AG, which was about to close the company. In 1960, the production was relocated to a new factory in Heppenheim. Lagnese in 1962 united with Iglo to HB -Iglo GmbH within the Unilever Group. In 1985 the main plant in Hamburg- Wandsbek was finally closed. In August 2005, the Lagnese - Iglo GmbH became part of Unilever Germany GmbH and no longer functioned as an independent company.

HB's ice cream was applied in Germany since 1986 with the advertising song "Like Ice In The Sunshine". Since 1995, The taste of summer by Edward Reekers is advertised with the specially composed for Lagnese song since the winter of 1996 with the modified text So melts the winter will be used.
