Lanín National Park

The National Park Lanin is located in the north of Argentina, in the southwest of the province of Neuquen. The park is part of the eco - region " Altos Andes" and is home to large areas of forest and the Patagonian steppe. It extends over 412,000 hectares.

The park was founded in 1937 in order to obtain the " North - Patagonian forest andin " in which the character types Chilean Araucaria (Araucaria araucana), rauli bill beech ( Nothofagus alpina) and Pellin bill beech ( Nothofagus obliqua ) live. These occur only in a small area in Argentina.
