The Lantian Man (Homo erectus lantianensis ) (Chinese Lantian Yuanren蓝田 猿人), also known as " Erect Lantian Man " (Chinese Lantian zhílìrén蓝田 直立 人), " Lantian Man " (Chinese Lantian řén蓝田 人) means, initially Sinanthropus was named lantianensis (Chinese Lantian Zhōngguó Yuanren蓝田 中国 猿人), but later assigned to Homo erectus.

In the years 1963 and 1964 were in the villages Chenjiawo (陈家 窝; Chenjiawo - site ) and Gongwangling (公 王 岭; Gongwangling - site ) in the district of Lantian, Shaanxi Province, China, a fossil skull, upper and lower jaw and three teeth of a prehistoric man discovered along with stone tools and animal fossils.

For Lantian man, there are several differ widely datings. After a paleomagnetic dating he should be 650000-500000 years old, a biostratigraphic dating, however, put only 300,000 years near.

The features show that compared with the Peking man of Lantian man (Homo erectus pekinensis; Chinese Běijīng Yuanren ) and Java man (Ch Zhǎowārén ) had more original features.

The Gongwangling - site and the Chenjiawo - site since 1982 are on the list of monuments of the People's Republic of China ( 2-47 ).
