Lareine

Lareine is a Japanese band founded in 1994, which can be assigned to the Visual Kei. The name comes from the French style, or what " the Queen ".

History

Originally called Laliene band was founded in 1994 by Kamijo, then known as Shoki, and Mayu. You can look back on a very turbulent band's history, as it is characterized by a constant change of occupation. The original line - up consisted of vocalist Kamijo, guitarist Mayu, Hirono and Kaito, bassist and drummer Sakureu Kyoka. Mayu left the band in 1995 but due to musical differences with Kaito, who wanted to adopt a darker direction than was typical for the band. Sakureu was soon replaced it by Emiru. Yet in May 1995 Mayu returned to Kamijos insistence, especially since Kaito is contributed to the idea of the band to get out what he then also in October into reality. He was accompanied by Kyoka, who founded the band Eliphas Levi. In July Lareine could release their second demo tape Laliene, the gray and the songs Dir en Feerie contained. The first song was commonly used by fans later as a demo tape of La: Sadie's misunderstood, which renamed itself in Dir en gray, Lareine entitled. In November Machi joined as the new drummer to 1996 and was called the band Lareine order.

In the same year Akira joined as new guitarist, but left it again after the release of the mini album Blue Romance and Romancia tour. The first real album, which had the same name as the previous mini-album followed. In 1998, the official fan club Fleur was founded and launched a Fleur- single.

1999 then appeared the single Fiancailles at Sony Music Entertainment Japan. Success came on. A year later, they covered the Japanese leader title Bara wa chiru utsukushiku the anime series Lady Oscar (Versailles no bara ).

However, the band broke apart when Mayu, Emiru and Machi left the band in August 2000. Kamijo, remained the only one left, now published on its own under the name Lareine album Scream. However, he also gave in 2001 on the band.

The end of 2003 the band but lived again. After various solo projects of all members of the songs were re- released with the gathered around Kamijo old members as guest musicians. Then the band was back together, but without drummer Machi, stepped in for the Kazumi. So Lareine now consists of vocalist Kamijo, bassist Emiru, drummer and guitarist Kazumi Mayu. They are complemented by guitarist Motoki, who is not an official member, however.

Style

Music

The band's music is characterized by rockier times, sometimes more gentle songs of Kamijos exotic voice acting are in a way that is reminiscent of French chansons, sung. There are many ballads in their repertoire. A special feature is that Lareine want to tell a story with their music, in which the members play different roles. With each new song, the story unfolds.

Occurrence

How many Visual Kei bands excite also Lareine by an unusual outfit stir. Their costumes are often reminiscent of the nobility of Versailles and to the fashion of the Baroque, so they are often compared with the also Japanese band Malice Mizer. Elaborate hairstyles, for which partial wigs are used as well as unusual and striking makeup complete the exterior appearance. According feminine look exclusively male band members. In addition, each member identified with a flower, which is often put into the costumes.
