Jean Larrivée Guitars Ltd.. is an instrument construction company in Vancouver, Canada. It was founded in 1967 by Jean Larrivée, is still family owned and specialized in producing high-quality acoustic guitars, as well as electric guitars and mandolins will be produced.

History

Jean Larrivée began to study classical guitar at the age of 20 years and the German luthier Edgar Mönch was later presented in Toronto. With him Larrivée completed his training as luthiers, acquired a workshop and initially dedicated to the sale of guitars. From the year 1971 he began to produce his first steel-string guitars, which were based on the dreadnought body shape of Martin Guitars. In the years 1971-1977 Jean Larrivée expanded his company. In 1976, Jean Larrivée had eight staff, who produced 25 to 30 instruments per month.
