Larry Campbell (musician)

Larry Campbell ( born February 21, 1955 in New York City ) is an American musician and producer who plays many stringed instruments such as guitar, mandolin, pedal steel guitar and violin in genres such as country music, folk, blues and rock music.

Campbell is best known for his work with Bob Dylan, which lasted from early 1997 to late 2004. During this time, Campbell was not only an important part of Dylan's live band, but also musicians on the album " Love and Theft " from the year 2001 and the Dylan movie Masked and Anonymous from the year 2003. Dylan took two musicians to Campbell to replace.

In 2005, Campbell appeared live on with Elvis Costello and the Imposters and Emmylou Harris. In addition, he released his first solo album, Rooftops, on which he plays solo acoustic guitar.

2006 Campbell played with Phil Lesh and Friends, since he is a regular member of the group. He is also an integral part of Levon Helm's Midnight Rambles. With helmet Campbell also went to U.S. tour. 2007 saw Campbell and his wife Teresa Williams Levon Helm's album Dirt Farmer for a Grammy. Campbell co-produced the recordings along with Helms daughter Amy; he also produced the album Riverside Battle Songs of the folk band Ollabelle.

On 18 September 2008 Campbell was awarded at the 7th Annual Americana Music Association Honors and Awards Show with the Lifetime Achievement Award ~ instrumentalist.

In 2009, Larry Campbell was, inter alia, also involved in the record sessions in New York for the album " Williamsburg " by Marius Müller- Westernhagen.

He played on two songs on the album Through A Crooked Sun by Rich Robinson pedal Street guitar, which was released in Europe in early 2012.
