Larry Elmore

Larry Elmore ( born August 15, 1948, Kentucky ) is one of the icons of fantasy art, and has helped to shape his work all the RPG worlds prevail.

Life

He received the 1971 BFA Degree at Western Kentucky University. In the 1980s, he worked hard for the role-playing world of pen & paper role-playing game Dungeons & Dragons. From 1981 to 1987 Elmore worked as an employee for the role-playing game publisher TSR, Inc. ( now Wizards of the Coast). During this period he created his most famous illustrations, namely images from the RPG world Krynn and the cover of the book series Dragonlance ( Dragonlance ). For the Dragon Magazine he also designed its own comic series called Snarfquest. Since 1987 he has worked as a freelance artist - among others from 1993 for TSR Inc. - develops and covers for comics, computer games, magazines, fantasy and science fiction literature and many other areas. Elmore lives with his wife Betty in Light Field, in the U.S. state of Kentucky.

Work

Most of his works are painted with oil paints, however, few in acrylics and airbrush. As he used masonite painting surface with a thickness between 0.625 cm and 0.9525 cm.
