Lars Schmidt

Lars Schmidt ( * September 13, 1965 ) is a former German football player and coach.

Career

Schmidt played in the youth teams of the SG Rosenhöhe and Gemaa Tempelsee in Offenbach am Main. As Active SpVgg Bad Homburg in 1985 he was obliged by coach Lothar Buchmann for the then playing in the second division Karlsruher SC as a midfielder and defender. In his first season he came up with 33 inserts, in the following season, the KSC was promoted to the Bundesliga. After ten years and 265 league games ( of which 198 in the first division ) Schmidt left the club and transferred to 1 FSV Mainz 05 in the Second Division. After his home club Kickers Offenbach had risen from the Regionalliga Süd in 1999, he undertook Schmidt with an option for a further cooperation after the end of his career. The club was relegated after one season again, and Schmidt completed a few games in the Regionalliga Süd.

As a result, Schmidt was a time as the coach of the first and the second team as well as youth, and as manager of the club. From 2005 to 2010 he was manager of Kickers Obertshausen, in addition he has served as athletic director of a football school. For the 2010/11 season took Lars Schmidt TGM Jügesheim in the federation League South Hesse, was with the team at first champion and rose to the Hessen League.
