Las Mercedes Municipality

The district of Las Mercedes is one of the 15 districts of the state of Guárico in Venezuela. The council is based in Las Mercedes. The area is 7691 km ². Its population is (2010 estimates) about 31,825 inhabitants. The district ( municipality ) is composed of 3 parroquias together: Cabruta, Santa Rita de Manapire and Las Mercedes.

Currently is a bridge between Cabruta, in the district, on the north bank of the Orinoco and Caicara del Orinoco, in the state of Bolívar, built. The length should be about 4.8 km.

Policy

The mayor is Raúl Carballo, of PPT.
