Last-Becker Ensemble

The Becker-Last Ensemble was a German jazz band that was popular in the late 1940s and early 1950s in West Germany.

The ensemble was established in 1948 as a spin-off from the dance orchestra of Radio Bremen, which was led by Hans Günther Austria and existed until 1953, the band had the following main cast. Hans Last, bass; Werner load, trombone and accordion; Robert Last, Drums; Karl -Heinz Becker, trumpet; Heinz Schultze, guitar and Helmut Zacharias, violin. The ensemble was so well known that the critic Hans Last 1950-1952 annually chose the best bass players in the German jazz poll (which led to his collaboration with the former German Topjazzern Max Greger, Albert Mangelsdorff, and Paul Kuhn ).

After the dissolution of the group became known as Hans Last James Last. His brother Werner made ​​under the name Kai Warner also as an orchestral boss career. Her brother Robert worked with his brothers as a drummer and formed a studio band. Heinz Schultze was guitarist in the orchestras of the brothers load. Helmut Zacharias was an internationally renowned violin virtuoso of light entertainment.
