Band History
Last Days of Humanity was founded on 30 December 1989 as a project of Erwin de Wit and Hans Smits in a concert. In 1990 it developed into a real band. 1993 appeared the demo Human Atrocity. Since then, the line-up changed continuously, the only constant is a founding member Erwin de Wit. In 1996, the band signed a contract with the German label Moonlight Records and the band recorded their debut album on within two days. However, the record company could not advance the money, and so the album was first unpublished. It took until the newly formed independent label Bones Brigade Records Album Sounds of Rancid Juices Sloshing Around Your Coffin finally published two years.
On the same label, the album Hymns of Indigestible Suppuration (2000), as well as the live album The XTC of Swallowing feces (2004 ) published. In addition, the group released several split releases and Extended Plays on various labels. 2006, the group disbanded after the release of their third studio album on Putrefaction in Progress.
Reunion
2010 founded Erwin de Wit the new group. The current lineup consists of Bart Bouwmans (vocals), William van den Ven ( guitar), Erwin de Vit (bass) and Marc Palm (drums).
Music style
Last Days of Humanity is attributable to the Goregrind genre. This subgenre of grindcore is characterized mainly by film-like splatter, violent lyrics. Especially at the beginning, the band decided not to text and pressed her membership from the Goregrind about the artwork and the song title. Only after the first album with new vocalist Bart de Boumans, texts were written. No background racist Last Days of Humanity sees itself as an apolitical band and has, despite various rumors in early 2000. These rumors originated as a racist was spotted wearing a T- shirt of the band at this time.
