Latheron

Latheron (Gaelic: Latheran ) is a small settlement in the Scottish Highland Unitary Authority. It is located about 25 km northeast of Helmsdale and southwest of Wick on the north coast of the Moray Firth in the traditional county of Caithness. Latheron is the capital of the eponymous Parrish.

By Latheron leads to the A9 trunk road, the most important of the Scottish Highlands. These kinks from there north to Thurso. At this junction the A99, further finally reaches the coast, following on Wick John o 'Groats begins.
