Latridopsis forsteri

The trumpet perch ( Latridae ) are a family of tufts Barschartigen ( Cirrhitoidea ). All five species of the family live in the more temperate seas around southern Australia, New Zealand, Chile and South Atlantic.

Features

The fish are 40 centimeters to 1.2 meters long. They are caught by sport fishermen and commercial and are considered good eating fish.

The family is phylogenetically within the finger -finned fishes ( Cheilodactylidae ).
