Lauchernalp

The Lauchernalp is a nightmare and a holiday village above the village of Wiler at 1,969 m above sea level. M. Loetschental in the German-speaking part of the canton of Valais in Switzerland.

Location and Transport

The Lauchernalp lies on a sunny terrace and offers a beautiful view of the Loetschental with its mountain chain from Bietschhorn to Lötschenlücke.

The holiday village is created by the 1972 and in the meantime totally renovated 100 panoramic aerial cableway to Wiler from. At the valley station of the aerial tramway parking garage and open parking for visitors is available. Wiler can be reached by car from the south via Gampel in the Rhone valley and the Valais Goppenstein or from the north by the car transport BLS AG from Kandersteg to Goppenstein. The road from Goppenstein into Loetschental is secured for winter operation. With public transport the Lauchernalp is easily accessible. From the train station Goppenstein the post car drives up to the valley station of the aerial cableway in Wiler.

Tourism

The Lauchernalp is a small resort with a hotel, a mountain inn, restaurants, a sports shop and many chalets and apartments.

Summer

The Lauchernalp is located in a beautiful area for hiking. The Lötschentaler trail runs from Goppenstein on the Faldumalp that Kummenalp that Lauchernalp to Fafleralp. For the full trail, it takes about eight hours. However, it can also be covered in two stages. For the most popular section of the Lauchernalp to Fafleralp must be reckoned with three hours of walking time. This stretch is since 2008 part of the regional Route 56 Lötschberg - Panorama ( Kiental- Fafleralp ) Hiking in Switzerland. The ascent or descent is possible from all valley communities.

Another pass hike leads over the Restipass to Leukerbad.

Winter

The Lauchernalp is the center of Alpine skiing Lötschental. The ski area offers 33 km of groomed slopes and a large freeride area for skiing and snowboarding. In 2003, the winter sports area Lauchernalp was extended by the glacier path on the Hockengrat in 3111 meters, making it the seventh-highest ski area in Switzerland ( Zermatt, Saas -Fee, Verbier, St. Moritz, Saas -Grund and Belalp ). In the ski a 15er gondola, two chairlifts, two ski lifts and a small ski lift stand next to children's park.

On the Hockenhorngrat the highest winter walk in Europe runs to over 3,000 m above sea level. M..
