Laupheim–Schwendi railway

The railway line Laupheim West Schwendihotel was opened by the Royal Württemberg State Railways on 17 May 1904. The 16.02 km long standard gauge branch line branches off at Laupheim of the Württemberg Southern Railway. The earlier trains running on the route to Schwendihotel steam trains were named after the river red colloquially as " red valley Molle ".

History

1963 perverted Monday to Friday, seven pairs of trains on the total distance, in addition a further seven pairs of trains between Laupheim West and Laupheim. Sundays only wrong track buses in the rail replacement bus service.

On the Laupheim city Schwendihotel section of the passenger on 23 May 1971 the freight traffic on 28 September 1984, decommissioned; then followed the dismantling of the rails.

The distance piece Laupheim West Laupheim city, the until May 27, 1983, passenger services were performed, was reactivated on 30 May 1999. From the north, through connections offered, there are hourly regional trains to and from Ulm.

From June 2009 to June 2011, a new connecting curve built with the so-called South Bend Laupheim to Southern Railway to also Biberach to offer through trains to the crack. She went on 12 June 2011. In this case, the breakpoint Laupheim city was converted into a two-track station. Freight was held in 2012.
