Laura Shigihara

Laura Shigihara is a Computerspielmusikkomponistin and singer-songwriter.

She has composed music for over 25 computer games, and gained notoriety in the public as Hauptkomponistin and sound designer for the tower defense video game Plants vs. Zombies. She is half Japanese and in addition to the English version of the song Zombies on Your Lawn, she also sang the Japanese version of the song Uraniwa ni Zombies ga for the game. Shigihara also took singing for the Singing Sunflower pet in World of Warcraft: Cataclysm. You can be heard alongside other composers such as Nobuo Uematsu and Yasunori Mitsuda in Akira Yamaokas album Play For Japan.

Biography

Shigiharas father is of Japanese descent and her mother is French- American. Shigihara grew up in the United States and Japan. She has practiced for 11 years playing the piano and taught himself guitar and drums playing at. They composed their own computer game music and recorded his own songs. After a friend gave their works to record companies in Japan, Shigihara were offered record contracts, but she declined for personal reasons.

Shortly after they returned to the United States, Shigihara has produce a job as a sound director for a company that audio talk shows and English learning material through Apple Japan was adopted. She has also released a studio album and composed her first computer game soundtrack for a small casual game entitled Wobbly Bobbly. She was so excited to work on a computer game that they offered their work free of charge. The company liked their work and paid them to create music for the following projects. From then on, she created her portfolio and now worked in over 25 published titles, including Plants vs. Zombies, Ghost Harvest, World of Warcraft, Minecraft and To the Moon with. In her spare time, she has also developed a music- based role playing game titled Melolune and is on Akira Yamaokas iTunes Album Play for Japan, where she contributed an original song, titled Jump. On April 15, 2012 her single " Cube Land" appeared.
