Laurence Maroney ( born February 5, 1985 in St. Louis, Missouri ) is an American football player at the position of the running backs. He plays for the Denver Broncos of the National Football League ( NFL). Previously, he was playing for the New England Patriots.

Life

Maroney went to the Normandy High School, in Normandy. He played there American football and basketball, and he also participated in several sprint competitions. In basketball, he was twice Most Valuable Player ( engl. most valuable player ) of the team, in the national league in the sprint he finished third in the 200 -meter run. In football, he holds the record for the school with 1,902 yards in a season overflowed.

He studied at the University of Minnesota. In 2003 and 2004 he divided his duties as a runner with the later running back of the Dallas Cowboys, Marion Barber III, 2005 with Gary Russell. Maroney played in only 14 of 36 games, although he won the Golden Gophers and scored the third in the history of the Big Ten Conference overflowed with more than 1,000 yards in each season. In his three years in college he ran a total of 3,933 yards.

Maroney was in the first round of the NFL Draft as the 21st player selected as the second running back the Draft. For the Patriots, he played as a running back and returner in his first season, he is converged 1,722 yards in his first NFL season.

He was (and a sixth -round draft pick in 2011 ) exchanged for a fourth -round draft pick in 2011 by the Patriots to the Broncos On September 14, 2010.
