Laurent de La Hyre

Laurent de La Hyre ( born February 27, 1606 Paris, † December 28, 1656 ) was a French painter of the Baroque.

He was a student of Georges Lallemant and studied the works of Francesco Primatice on the Palace of Fontainebleau. With Simon Vouet he led in France the Baroque style of painting.

La Hyre 1648 was a founding member of the Académie royale de peinture et de sculpture.
