Laurent Fuahea

Lolesio ( Laurent ) Fuahea ( born September 5, 1927 in Hihifo; † 2 December 2011 Lano, Wallis and Futuna ) was a Tongan priest and Roman Catholic Bishop of Wallis and Futuna.

Life

Fuahea studied at the Minor Seminary of Lano and 1950-1957 Catholic theology and philosophy at the Seminary of Paita in New Caledonia. He taught for two years at the minor seminary in Lano and received on 21 December 1957, the ordination to the priesthood for the Diocese of Wallis and Futuna. He was pastor of SIGAVE on the island of Futuna, a north-eastern of Fiji in the South Pacific island, which belongs to the French overseas territory of Wallis and Futuna. He was also pastor at Nantes Métropole and Samoa.

Pope Paul VI. appointed him on March 2, 1972 Titular Bishop of Bagai and appointed him auxiliary bishop in the Diocese of Wallis and Futuna.
