Laurent Garnier

Laurent Garnier ( born February 1, 1966 in Boulogne- Billancourt ) is a French techno producer and DJ.


Garnier made ​​an apprenticeship as a hotel manager and worked, among others in Manchester, where he was the hype surrounding the genre of acid house witnessed during the 1980s and started his activities as a DJ. As a DJ of the club The Haçienda in Manchester Garnier was in the late 1980s and the early 1990s paved the way for so-called Madchester scene.

Since the mid- 1990s sets Garnier focus of his work as a music producer and with the release of the studio albums in the House genre. In addition to Eric Morand he is founder of the label F Communications. Garnier is also the author of a book that deals with the history of electronic music and his work as a DJ.
