Laurent Joubert

Laurent Joubert (* 1529, † 1583 ) was a French physician, surgeon and Chancellor of the famous Medical School of the University of Montpellier.

1566 he was appointed as successor to Guillaume Rondelet ( 1507-1566 ) Professeur. Since 1579 he was one of the physicians of the king.

He is the author of a treatise on laughter ( Traité du ris, 1579), author of a work on Popular Errors in Medicine and Health Care ( Erreurs populaires et la medecine propos vulgaires touchant et le regime de sante, 1578) and a pharmacopoeia (La Pharmacopée, 1588).
