Laurie Anderson
Laurie Anderson ( born June 5, 1947 in Glen Ellyn, Illinois, near Chicago ) is an American performance artist and musician.
Life and work
Her first performances had Laurie Anderson in the 1970s in New York. In 1976 she developed the Viophonographen, a violin with a mounted on top 7 "single, which they pointed out the violin bow. A wider public was in 1981 with her single O Superman known, with which it reached number 2 in the UK Singles Chart. Their stage work includes a Moby Dick -inspired multimedia presentation.
Anderson wrote the New York - articles for the Encyclopædia Britannica.
In the course of her career she worked with, among others, Andy Kaufman, William S. Burroughs, Peter Gabriel, Jean Michel Jarre, John Cage, Philip Glass, Michel Waisvisz, Roma Baran and Lou Reed.
On April 12, 2008 married Laurie Anderson and her longtime significant other Lou Reed.
It is noteworthy that Laurie Anderson almost all songs, including the performance presented on their tour " Strange Angels " in Germany in the German language.
