Lauteraarhorn seen from the Grimsel Pass

The Lauteraarhorn is a four-thousand in the Bernese Alps. Starting point for the normal route is the Aarbiwak ( 2,780 m above sea level. M. ), accessible from the Grimsel Hospice ( 1,980 m above sea level. M. ).

The first ascent was made on August 8, 1842 Pierre Jean Édouard Desor, Christian Girard, Arnold Escher von der Linth and the leaders Melchior Bannholzer from Haslital and Jacob Leuthold from Grindelwald.
