Lawn Tennis Association

The Lawn Tennis Association (LTA ) is the tennis governing body of the United Kingdom, the Channel Islands and the Isle of Man.

History

The LTF was founded on January 26, 1888 in London. As one of the first acts of the rules for lawn tennis were determined. The LTA is the organizer of the Wimbledon Championships, which is their main source of income. By 1985, the LTA was performed by a volunteer committee.

One of the self-imposed tasks of the LTA is to train young British players and promote. However, this was only possible in the case of Tim Henman. The few other British top players received their training abroad, as Greg Rusedski (Canada) and Andy Murray (Spain). Therefore, the Association is also regularly exposed to criticism.
