Lazarus of Aix

The Bishop Lazarus officiated beginning of the 5th century in Aix -en- Provence.

After Priscillian, Bishop of Avila, had been executed as a heretic in Trier because of his strict ascetic theology 385, stopped and spread his views in Gaul and Spain. One of the most prominent representatives of the " Priscillianists " was Bishop Lazarus, but other high ecclesiastical dignitaries of the region ( first Instantius and salvanius and Hyginus of Cordova, which were 390 excommunicated, then Herod of Arles and the Metropolitan of Marseille, Vienne and Narbonensis II) joined the teaching. Lazarus and Herod were 412 sold under the charge of Manichaeism.
