LDK Solar Co. Ltd.. Headquartered in Jiangxi Province in China is the largest vertically integrated manufacturer of Photovoltaikproduktenund the world's largest manufacturer of wafers.

Since 2007, LDK Solar is listed on the New York Stock Exchange. LDK Solar was incorporated into the solar stock index PPVX. The company is ISO9001 certified.

History

LDK Solar Co. Ltd.. Xiaofeng Peng was of ( born 1975) founded in 2005. Peng has since been Chairman of the Board and Chief Executive Officer. At the foundation Peng invested $ 30 million of his own money into the company. LDK was the first Chinese company has made ​​the wafer.

In 2010, companies had the largest capacity expansion in the solar industry.

On 31 December 2011, the LDK Solar submitted a takeover bid for the German company Sunways (Konstanz). As of January 2013 LDK holds around 71 % stake in Sunways.

Products

LDK covers all steps of the value chain in photovoltaics with its own production from:

  • Ingot & Wafer: With 3 GW of annual capacity, LDK the world's largest manufacturer of wafers in the photovoltaic sector. The world market share was about 20 % in 2010.
  • Modules: Since early 2010, LDK manufactures its own photovoltaic modules and sells them mainly in Europe and the USA. The production capacity is 2.5 GW.
  • Silane: On April 4, 2011, the company has announced to invest in their own production silane gas. The capacity is 2,000 t / year and commercial production is scheduled to begin in early 2012.
  • Silicon: An own silicon production was completed at the site Xinyu 2009. The capacity amounts to 18,000 t / year. The production is based on the Siemens process
