Le Bardo

Le Bardo (Arabic باردو Bardaw; alternative spellings Bardo ) is a suburb of Tunis, which lies four kilometers west of the capital. The town was founded around 1250 by the Hafsids. Today he scored around 70 000 inhabitants.

In Le Bardo is has the largest archaeological museum in Tunisia, the Bardo Museum, which boasts the world's most important collection of Roman mosaics and which is housed in the premises of the former harem of the Bardo Palace, the mid-19th century as a private residence for Bey Mohammed II was built.
