Le Bouchet-Mont-Charvin

Le Bouchet ( informally also called Le Bouchet -Mont- Charvin, to avoid confusion with the hamlet of Le Bouchet Le Grand -Bornand ) is a commune in the French department of Haute- Savoie department in the Rhône-Alpes region.

Geography

Le Bouchet is on 935 m above sea level. M., northeast of Faverges, about 22 km southeast of the town of Annecy (air line). The mountain village extends into the southern Bornes Alps at the foot of the Chaîne des Aravis, in the valley of the chaise.

The area of ​​18.52 km ² municipal area includes a portion of the Bornes Alps and the uppermost part of the catchment area of ​​the chaise. These springs on the western slope of Mont Charvin and flows through a V-shaped valley to the southwest towards Faverges. To the north the municipality area extends to the heights of Montagne de Sulens (1839 m above sea level. M. ). To the east of Mont Charvin (ü. M. with 2409 m the highest peak of Le Bouchet ) charges, which together with the Aiguilles du Mont ( 2132 meters above sea level. M. ) the southwestern completion of the Aravis chain. To the south extends the municipality floor up to the Col de l' Epine.

At Le Bouchet next to the village itself includes various hamlet settlements and farmsteads, including:

  • Savatte La ( 1144 m above sea level. M. ) on the southeast flank of the chaise at the foot of Mont Charvin

Neighboring communities of Le Bouchet are Manigod in the north, Ugine in the east, the south and Marlen Serraval in the West.

History

Le Bouchet was separated only in 1877 by Serraval and collected for independent community.

Attractions

The village church of Le Bouchet dates from the 19th century.

Population

With 238 inhabitants (as of 1 January 2011) Le Bouchet is one of the smallest municipalities in the department of Haute- Savoie. During the 19th and 20th centuries, the population steadily increased due to high levels of emigration from (1876 were still 495 residents counted in Le Bouchet ). Since the early 1990s, however, a significant increase in population was recorded again.

Economy and infrastructure

Le Bouchet was until well into the 20th century a predominantly coined by agriculture and Alpine village. Today, there are individual operations of small businesses. Many workers are commuters who engage in the larger towns in the vicinity of their work. The mountain village also benefits from a modest summer tourism.

The village is located off the major thoroughfares. It can be reached from Serraval or by Marlen.
