Le Bugue
Le Bugue is a municipality with 2728 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2011 ) in France, in the Dordogne, in the Aquitaine region. She is one of 14 municipalities of the municipal association Communauté de Communes Terre de Cro- Magnon. For this part of the municipality of Les Eyzies -de- Tayac- Sireuil, in 1868, the first remains of Cro -Magnons were found.
Geography
The city is located in the Perigord, on the north side of the Vezere, near its confluence with the Dordogne. The distance to Périgueux ( Prefecture) is about 40 kilometers.

- Particularly worth seeing the caves are in the area of Le Bugue with their prehistoric works of art or even with the impressive stalactites: Cavern de Bara Bahau, west of Le Bugue
- Grotte de St- Cirq, prehistoric petroglyphs
- Grotte de Proumeyssac, stalactite cave
Partnership
Le Bugue in 1988 a partnership with the Alsatian community Marckolsheim closed in commemoration of the evacuation of part of the local population in the Périgord at the beginning of World War II.
Personalities
- Jean Rey (1583-1645), physician and physicist, was born in Le Bugue, where he also worked and died.
