Le petit Nicolas
Little Nicholas ( in the original French title: Le petit Nicolas ) is a children's book series, written by René Goscinny and illustrated by Jean -Jacques Sempé, published in 1959-1964. Be told the daily experiences of a young boy named Nick.

History
Publications
Around 160 small - pitch stories were first published in the 60s in the magazine " Le Mustique " and in French regional newspaper Sud -Ouest Dimanche. Many of these stories were later published in five books. The books have been translated into more than 30 languages and sold over 8 million copies.
When moving discovered Goscinny 's daughter, Anne Goscinny, not yet published in book form stories of little Nick again, of which 80 in 2005 in the book new from the small pitch and a further 45 in 2006 in the book The Little Nick is back have been published. 2008 and 2009, published four volumes narrower selection from these two books with around 20 stories.
German version
The German versions of the books have been translated by Hans Georg Lenzen. The names have been translated for ease of understanding and for ease of pronunciation with German names. For example, Georg originally in French Geoffroy, called Clovis Clotaire and Otto Alceste. In addition, Lenzen Nicks relocated hometown to Germany and replaced all existing French local and regional names by German; in the newer translations is also the German Mark ( in the original: Franc) replaced by the euro.
Then the little Nick acts as narrator in the stories had to be adapted to the style of language to that of a little boy. Hans Georg Lenzen writes in the preface of the book new from the small Nick: " syntax and punctuation in this book are adapted to the small pitch, not the, little Duden '. "
Audiobooks
2005 was the first audio book was published The Little Nick in for a surprise, in which some of stories by Rufus Beck were read. 2006 yet was followed by four more audio books with the titles The Little Nick is the best Little Nicholas plays football, Little Nicholas cleans up and Little Nicholas is back!.
Comics
From 1956 - even before the actual series - published 28 full-page large-format comic episodes about the little Nick of Goscinny and Sempé. An edition of the stories does not exist.
Content
Main character and narrator of stories Nick (Nicolas ), a small, bright boy. He describes his experiences at school, at home, playing with his friends or on vacation. One of his favorite words is " Prima " what the French " chouette " corresponds to and in earlier times was part of the French youth language, which was not liked to have heard of parents in education ( comparatively the comments of Nick's mother in the books, not again " prima " to say). He is not a particularly good student and get along with most of his classmates very well, even if it always comes back to arguments that often end up in fights.

Nick's friends
- Otto ( Alceste ) is Nick's best friend. It is quite thick and eats constantly.
- Georg ( Geoffroy ) has a rich father who buys him everything he wants. He disguises himself very much and always wants to be the boss.
- Franz ( Eudes ) is the strongest of the class and gives his comrades like on the nose.
- Adalbert ( agnan ) is the best in class and the favorite of the teacher. In the other he is not very popular, but since he wears glasses, his comrades must not beat him normally.
- Roland ( Rufus ) has a father who is a policeman, and therefore has a whistle.
- Clovis ( Clotaire ) is the worst of the class and goes out of habit always the same in the corner if he is interrogated.
- Joachim (Joachim ) gets one day a little brother.
- Max ( Maixent ) has long legs and thick, dirty knees.
- Marie Hedwig ( Marie- Edwige ), the pretty daughter of Nick's neighbors, the Kortschilds ( Courteplaque ), and his little girlfriend.
- Louisa ( Louisette ) plays better football than some of the guys. If Nick is great, he would marry her.
Adult
- Nick's parents: The parents' names are never mentioned. The father works in an office and often comes very stressed home. The mother is a housewife. In arguing it threatens her husband again, she would " return to her mother."
- The teacher: The teacher is not named by name. She is very popular with her class, but is often highly demanded by the pranks of their students.
- Mr. Hühnerfeld ( Monsieur Dubon ) is a substitute teacher at the school and very strict. He is by the students ' Hühnerbrüh " (Le Bouillon ), because he always says to them: " Look into my eyes " because" in the chicken broth 're eyes. "
- Mr. Bled ( Monsieur Blédurt ) lives next door. He and Nick's father deliver repeatedly childish contests or annoy each other, which sometimes ends in a fight.

Adaptations
Film
On 30 September 2009, the film Le Petit Nicolas appeared directed by Laurent Tirard in French cinemas. In Germany launched The Little Nick on August 26, 2010 in the cinemas, the accompanying DVD was released on March 25, 2011.
Animated series
2009, a 52 -part CGI animation series was produced. In Germany, the series first aired on the 6th May 2010 at KI.KA.
