The U- beams ( Le rayon U) is a published 1943-1944 Franco Belgian comic.

Action

The States Norlandia and Austradia are located on a distant world hostile. Professor Marduk succeeds with his assistant Sylvia Hollis developing a weapon that promises a more peaceful future. However, the mineral needed has yet to be procured. Along with Lord Calder and a handful of followers is the journey into an unexplored area. The project will also Austradia not hidden, trying by all means to bring the expedition to failure.

Background

Edgar P. Jacobs wrote and illustrated a 64 -page story that took the characters from Flash Gordon in a modified form. This version was later completely redesigned, resulting in a new volume of 43 pages.

Publications

The story appeared in Bravo 1943-1944 and 1967 in Phenix. A landscape-oriented album was released in 1967. The advance copy of the new version in 1974 in Tintin, and was published by Le Lombard and Dargaud in albums form. This version printed Carlsen in Germany.
